After the first half Davis led 6-4, but Granite Bay was able to make a comeback, outscoring Davis in both the third and fourth quarters.
The seniors exhibited their years of experience with three of five seniors each featuring two goals in tonight’s game: Alex Erickson, Blake Fuchslin, and Harald Tollerup.
Despite these performances, the team couldn’t hold on long enough to pull out the win.
“We weren’t able to rise to that level [and overall as a team we didn’t play cohesively,” Tollerup said in a phone interview.
Although it was a tough loss for the team, they are looking ahead. Tollerup mentioned that the team’s focus needs to be to bring more energy to their practices in hopes of winning more games.
Starting off 0-1 in league play is not ideal considering how valuable each game is. Despite being hopeful for the future, facing such a tough loss is never easy, especially when the outcome is not expected.
“We expected to stomp them, they just played with heart,” Tollerup said.
