BLUE DEVILS FINISH STRONG AT SFL MEET

The Davis High School track and field program hosted Sierra Foothill League quad meet Wednesday at Ron and Mary Brown Stadium.

The Blue Devils welcomed the Folsom, Rocklin and Whitney teams.

Below are the results of DHS varsity boys and varsity girls.

Boys
Cooper Ballard took first place in the 100 meters for the Blue Devils, clocked at 11.30 seconds. The senior finished in second place in the 200 meters at 22.55 seconds.

Ballard also competed in the long jump, taking second place at 22 feet, 7.75 inches.

In the long-distance running events, Elias Thronson, a sophomore, won the 1600 meters at 4 minutes, 28.66 seconds. He also took second place in the 800-meters at 1:58.36.

Nicholas Duquette crossed the finish line for second place in the 3200 meters at 9:52.48.

In the 110 hurdles, Nathaniel Janousek, a senior, took first place at 15.42 seconds.

The DHS boys 4x100 relay team had a third-place finish at 43.87 seconds.

The Blue Devils 4x400 relay team took third place, clocked at 3:37.67.

Moving to the field events, DHS had three top finishers in the high jump. Jaden Kang, a senior, won with a height of 5 feet, 10 inches. Fares Nassar and Wyatt Hustad were tied for second at 5-.0800.

The Blue Devils had another group of three boys finish in the pole vault. Julian Rast won the event with a height of 12 feet, 6 inches. Trent Alexander and Sebastian Ehrlich were tied for second at 10-06.00.

Lalith Immareddy, a senior, had a second-place finish in the triple jump at 39 feet, 11.75 inches. Kang was third at 38 feet, 2.5 inches.

Girls
In the running events, DHS had a 1-2-3 finish in the 800 meters. Noah Feldt, a junior, won at 2 minutes, 20.63 seconds. Lilian Hales-Yang took second place at 2:21.45 and Kailee Mallow third at 2:21.87.

Feldt led the way to another 1-2-3 finish for the Blue Devils in the 1600 meters, clocked at 5:02.80. Hales-Yang was second at 5:05.31 and Katelyn Secrest third at 5:09.08.

Mallow took third place in the 400 meters at 1:00.82.

Rainbow Owiecki was among the top three in the 100 meters, taking third at 13.36.

Adeleine Glenn finished second place in the 3200 meters at an even 12 minutes, 16 seconds. Avery Wolk was third at 12:20.57.

The DHS 4x100 team had a second-place finish with a time of 51.73 seconds.

The Blue Devils 4x400 squad also had a second-place finish at 4:33.21.

In the field events, Dina Reynolds was third in the discus at 88 feet, 3 inches.

Julia Schlemmer won the high jump with a leap of an even 5 feet. Ella Valcarenghi was tied for second at 4 feet, 10 inches.
