DOUBLE WINS FOR BLUE DEVIL SWIMMERS

On Tuesday, the Davis High School swimming teams came away with Sierra Foothill League wins over their rivals.

The Blue Devils hosted the Jesuit High and St. Francis’ squads at the Davis Senior High School Aquatics Center. The DHS boys posted an 89-81 win and the girls 114-56.

Will Cutler was a double winner for the Blue Devil boys, taking the 200 freestyle at 1 minute, 46.03 seconds and the 100 fly at 52.94 seconds.

Other Blue Devil boys who won their events were Tucker Valle in the 200 medley relay at 1 minute, 36.65 seconds; Denis Valle, 100 freestyle at 48.55; and Julian Tucker, 100 breaststroke at 58.16.

For the DHS girls, Abby Cenizal was also a double winner in the 200 freestyle at 1:57.25 and the 500 freestyle at 5:11.22.

Other Blue Devil girls who made a splash were Vivian Tucker in the 100 fly at 1:04.02, Angelina Valle in the 100 backstroke at 1:03.73 and Irelyn Kennedy in the 100 breaststroke at 1:05.55.

There were multiple DHS swimmers, boys and girls, who had second to fifth place finishes in various events.

The Blue Devils continue SFL action on Wednesday, March 17, when they compete against Whitney High’s squads in Rocklin.
