The Davis High Blue Devils dropped their home opener to McClatchy High 9-3 on Monday afternoon. The Blue Devils started out well, leading 3-1 after four innings. The three-run fourth inning by Davis featured a Colin Campbell walk, an Alex Thompson single, and a Trevor Romo double. A strong four innings on the mound by Jackson Vogt had the Devils in position for the win. Unfortunately, the bullpen would surrender a pair of four-run innings to the visiting team, and Davis would fail to answer with the bats themselves. Unable to keep up, Davis would lose 9-3.
