PLAYERS A-PLENTY RETURN FOR DHS BOYS SOCCER

On Friday, the Davis High boys soccer team played its final Sierra Foothill League game of 2025.

But the Blue Devils return to action early January 2026.

Taking on Whitney at Playfield Park, the Blue Devils took care of the visiting Wildcats with a 3-0 win.

Kriztian Anderson, a senior midfielder, scored two goals for DHS. He now has eight goals for the season. Raffaele Mastranglo, a junior forward, had the other shot in the net for the Blue Devils.

Nolan Wingo recorded an assist in scoring for DHS.

This year’s team

There are a dozen players who return for DHS head coach Alex Park from the 2024-25 team that captured the SFL crown with an 11-3 record and 17-5-2 overall. That Blue Devils team advanced to the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I title game, where Franklin’s squad out of Elk Grove, a former rival from their Delta League days, posted a 1-0 win.


Davis earned a berth in the California Interscholastic Federation State Regional playoffs, winning its first round game but ending its season in the semifinals.

The seniors on this year’s team are Anderson, plus goalkeeper Christian Oretega, midfielder/defender Arieh Rooks and one of the team captains, forward Subhan Rahimi, midfielder Chris Marquez, forward Joshua Emojong, midfielder/defender Andres Gomez-Esparta who is also a captain and defenders Shaan Sah and Otis Prins.

The juniors on the roster are defenders Elisa Mas and Javier Velasquez, midfielder Nolan Zafonte, Mastrangelo, defender Diego Torres, midfielder Noah Arnold, forward Aditya Arun Kumar and defender Adriel Maya.

There are three sophomores on the team, one of whom is returning as a starter in forward Cruz Gonzalez, who had seven goals last season.

Preseason and upcoming game

Davis (2-0 in the SFL, 3-3 overall) lost its first three games of the season to Redwood, Acalanes and Dixon.
