In a heartbreaking finish, the Davis Blue Devils fell 9-8 to Turlock in double overtime during the section quarterfinals Friday night.
Davis came out strong, taking an early 4-0 lead behind quick offense and tough defense. Turlock broke through late in the first half, narrowing the score to 4-2, but junior William Cutler answered with another goal to keep Davis ahead.
Both teams battled fiercely through the second half, with shots constantly being denied on both ends. The crowd roared as the game remained tight, energy high on both sides.
Despite Davis’ strong start, Turlock rallied in the final minutes and forced overtime, eventually winning in sudden death.
