The Davis High women's water polo team had their senior night on Oct. 22, facing off against the Rocklin Thunder.
Davis has been extremely consistent this season, being ranked number one in their league, ninth in California, and fourteenth in the country. They have had a successful season so far, with this game adding to their current winning streak.
The Blue Devils kept control of the score for the entire night, dominating in the pool. They started off strong, with seven goals in the first quarter. They kept a strong defense as well, allowing no goals from the opposing team in the same quarter.
The players kept the momentum going in the rest of the half, fending off all shots on the goal but one, and scoring three more goals for themselves.
In the second half, Davis added to their lead, scoring a total of eight goals in the final two quarters. Rocklin managed to get one more goal past the Blue Devils' defense, but in the end, their efforts were no match for Davis. The final score was a win for the Blue Devils, 18-2, to conclude senior night.
Top scorers of the night included sophomores Katie Tapio and Hilde McConnell, ending the game with three goals each.
Wednesday’s game had a positive ending, but the Blue Devils are still focused on future games, hoping to keep their winning streak going.
