Despite fighting hard, Davis fell 8-7 to Rocklin on senior night Wednesday.

Rocklin opened strong with four unanswered goals in the first quarter while Davis goalkeeper senior Shuzhi Zheng came up with multiple key blocks. The Blue Devils struggled early against Rocklin’s tight defense, missing several close chances.

Junior Luke Wright put Davis on the board in the second quarter and later added another goal, finishing with two on the night. Senior Jacob Hughes contributed with strong defensive play and an assist, while junior Will Cutler led the team with three goals.

Davis closed the gap late, scoring four times in the fourth quarter, but Rocklin held on to edge out the win. The Blue Devils’ effort was highlighted by Zheng’s early saves and Wright’s offense but ultimately they fell short by one point at the end of the night.
