The Davis High Varsity Girls Golf team competed in the final league tournament at Timber Creek Golf Course in Roseville on Oct. 21. The 18-hole match used a shotgun start, with 96 girls from eight SFL schools teeing off at 12:30 P.M. Coordinating the players, all of whom had to walk to their starting holes, proved chaotic, causing confusion before the round. Yet with no wind and perfect temperatures, conditions couldn’t have been better.

Junior Lily Lingbloom and junior Bella Trask would lead the Blue Devils on this day, both shooting an 86. For Trask, this was her personal best and beat her score from the previous 18-hole match at Timber Creek by more than 10 strokes. Senior Mehr Jaijee and junior Isabel Sluis would both make improvements, shooting a 98 and a 99, respectively.

The Blue Devils failed to qualify for the Section Playoffs, and their season ended. However, Lingbloom, the Blue Devils' #1 player, qualified as an individual on the strength of an outstanding overall season. The top six players with the most points from the league matches that are not on a team that qualified make the Section Tournament. Lingbloom finished third, and Trask just missed finishing 7th.

Lingbloom will head to Bing Maloney Golf Course on Monday, October 27, to compete for a chance to advance to the Masters Tournament.
