Wednesday, the Davis Varsity Field Hockey team burst onto the field for the season opener, hosting Chico High. The Devils struck early and maintained relentless pressure, shutting out Chico 3-0.

Building on their strong start, Isla Bulman dazzled with two goals, while Kate Losscutoff powered in another. Addison Milner delivered two key assists, and Sofia Garcia set up another with sharp playmaking.

On the defensive end, Kira Kelly and Emma Donadio dominated in goal, denying every Chico attempt with two impressive saves each. The defense relentlessly pressured the opposition, tallying 18 steals—four each from Sofia Garcia and Amelia Zedonis.

Reflecting on the team's cohesive effort, Assistant Coach Pasindu Wanigasooriya said, “We set out a plan and everyone stuck to it. Our defense stood tall and let us push higher up the field and score.”

Looking ahead, the Blue Devils are back in action against Pleasant Valley High School in Chico on September 3rd.
