Davis men’s varsity basketball fought hard against Rocklin in their second to last game of the season, ultimately losing 64-40.

The Blue Devils faced a tough first quarter, ending with Rocklin leading 14-11. Rocklin widened the scoring gap in the second quarter with numerous layups and fouls on Davis, resulting in a 31-19 lead at halftime.

After regrouping at halftime, the Blue Devils rallied and added 21 points in the second half.

Senior Nico Dunn’s consistent three-pointers became a defining feature in the final moments of the game. “It’s something I take pride in,” Dunn said. “Sometimes we will underperform but it’s good to always have a good ending.”

Despite the loss, the players were left with bittersweet feelings. “It’s sad. Very sad. I’m going to miss all the seniors,” freshman Rhys Crawford said. “But [I am] really excited for the next season.”

Dunn is looking forward to developing his skills after the season ends. “I’m going to take basketball and what I’ve learned from it, especially on the physical side and develop my own training program because basketball is something I’m very passionate about,” he said.
