Davis women’s varsity soccer played their senior night against Saint Francis High Lancers on Feb. 2.

Before kickoff, seniors took pictures with their teammates, families, and friends to celebrate their final season at DHS.

In the first half, both teams controlled the ball evenly, with multiple shots on goal. The half ended 0-0.

The Devils began the second half slowly turning over the ball on multiple plays, “I think we should work on keeping the ball on the ground and maintaining a good energy,” senior Nola Burnham said. Davis stayed in the fight, regaining possessions avoiding goals from the Lancers.

As the second half continued, DHS upped the intensity, controlling the ball for the majority of the play. They strung together passes and found opportunities to score more frequently than their opponents.

“We did well getting the ball to the top and having good chances on goal,” Burnham said.

With 9 minutes to play in the half, the Devils conceded two late goals within a minute and a half of each other and couldn’t climb back against Saint Francis’ newfound energy.

Davis fell 2-0.
