A 71-0 defeat for the Blue Devils football team unfolded Oct. 18, at the Dewey Halden Field during the Pink Out game against the Oak Ridge Trojans.

“This game was our last chance to qualify for playoffs,” senior Arjun Singh said “We were playing for ourselves.”

Despite the defeat, a few key plays from the Blue Devils managed to shine through. In the third quarter, one of the Trojans began tearing down the field with the ball, but was quickly tackled by senior Isiah Dauphine, stopping the Trojans from scoring.

Shortly after, senior Ray Keeper made a catch and dashed across the field, gaining several crucial yards for Davis.

“The first three drives stopped them hard,” Singh said.

The Blue Devils remain undaunted by this loss and continue striving for better outcomes in the future. “I don’t want to go through this experience again,” senior middle linebacker Michael Monley said. “It’s motivation to work harder next week.”
